My daddy was passionate about the public education system. He served many years as a board member and president of the Rockwall School board as well as ran for the State House of Representatives with Education Reform at the forefront of his campaign. He also loved Texas Tech, his Alma-mater. After he passed away, my mom and the rest of the Rockwall Texas Tech Alumni Association began hosting a golf tournament in his name, raising money for graduating Rockwall High School seniors going to Texas Tech. There is usually one boy and one girl recipient. To date, over 100k has been raised. This is a really bittersweet event every year as we miss, remember and celebrate good ol' Tommy Jack. Thanks for everyone who came out and made this event a huge success.
